Though born and initially raised in Brazil, Claudio Simonetti is synonymous with Italian music; in the '80s as a pioneer of Italo disco, but before that as the composer of soundtracks for Italian horror films, such as Suspiria and Dawn Of The Dead with his progressive rock band Goblin. The son of a famous father, Enrico Simonetti, he was born into a musical family and even once spent 15 weeks at No.1 in the Italian charts only to be knocked off by his dad. The story of a remarkable career.

For a synth obsessed person like me, the geartalk is the highlight and it is great when he talks about Linn Drums , PPG waveterm and other stuff.

The MISA digital guitar is new Midi controller with touchpad and 144 switches on the fretboard. The unit connects to your gear or DAW via Midi and you can assign 4 Midi Controller to the X/Y touchpad.

this is a nice alternative to other Midi guitar concepts and if the price is right, it it will find many fans.
What i find compelling about it, is that the X/Y touchpad is quite a suitable userinterface for guitarist, who are usually
left with their feet to control FX and additional Midi Parameters of their gear as they need both hands for playing.

I'm sure we will see more sensor equiped guitars in the future that helps guitarists to expand the creative options of their instrument. Recent examples of new digital Instruments like the Eigenharp indicate a bright future for sensor enabled tactile interfaces for musicians and digital artists.

Sequencomat is an interesting realtime Midi sequencer for the Jazzmutant Lemur, a Multitouch interface for electronic musicians and video artists.

it was developed by Matthias Wille using Cycling 74's MAX/MSP.

I really dig the user interface and the clever features like "step mute" or realtime modulation of parameters.

Once multitouch enabled tablets become more affordable we will see more tactile user interfaces geared towards realtime performance of electronic music.
